ABOUT THE ROLE
As Head of Marketing, you’ll build and lead the marketing function to significantly drive demand, improve customer retention, and unlock the potential of our current and future offerings. Your leadership will be instrumental in accelerating our mission and driving towards profitable growth.
KEY OUTCOMES
OUTCOME #1: Build and scale the Songfinch Marketing team and infrastructure
- Identify roles and infrastructure needed to achieve team and company goals
- Recruit, retain, develop and lead a team of talented high-performing marketing professionals
- Establish high-output xfn teams across Marketing, Product and Experience
OUTCOME #2: Increase demand to grow revenue 200% over the next 24 months
- Implement improved funnel strategies on current channels
- Improve channel mix and widen top of funnel by testing and scaling new channels across multiple mediums
- Partner with Product to improve and maximize product-led user acquisition, retention and growth
- Improve utilization of very sizable email/SMS lists
OUTCOME #3: Increase retention and drive customer LTV
- Leverage alt product offerings, add-on upsells and retargeting strategies to drive additional revenue from past and future customer base
- Use Instant Song engine to sell products that cater towards lower price point gifting occasions/relationships
- Establish programs that drive order upsell by focusing on customer journey phases post-purchase
OUTCOME #4: Create and execute brand and GTM strategies for current and future product offerings
- Develop product marketing function to build awareness around new offerings and product features
- Transition/elevate brand from “cool custom song product I saw on Facebook” to a multi-offering, personalized gifting company that delivers unforgettable emotive music experiences to customers

TEAM
This role reports directly to our CEO while leading and managing our Marketing team.
COMPETENCIES
You have 8-12+ years of experience in product-led, B2C ecommerce companies in which you’ve developed and executed strategies and built and managed teams through significant growth phases. Our ideal candidate:

COMPENSATION
The Head of Marketing role may span a range of experience and expertise. During our interview process, we will review your background and local market data and use a mix of qualitative assessments to determine where you fall in our salary range. We will discuss compensation early and be transparent throughout the hiring process.
The salary for this role ranges from $230,000 to $260,000. The salary range does not reflect total compensation, which encompasses base salary, benefits, and company stock options. Benefits include...

Senior Software Engineer - Front End
DEPARTMENT: Product + Technology
REPORTS TO: Chief Product Officer
LOCATION: Hybrid (Chicago, In Office Tues-Thurs) or remote; Remote employees may be expected to travel to our Chicago office headquarters on a quarterly basis.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a curious, driven and accomplished front end software engineer with full stack ecommerce experience to join our Product Engineering team supporting our Experience platform. You’ll be involved in every aspect of the product development lifecycle, from strategy, architecture, and ideation to development, launch, and optimization. You have experience owning large features/areas of a product and enjoy collaborating closely with Product and Design. You feel comfortable supporting other engineers when they’re partnering on your feature.
You have experience building new products and iterating toward product market fit or have experience scaling a product experiencing rapid growth. Our Original Song product continues to grow while we’re working on a variety of new products/features aimed at helping our users make better songs faster and giving them new capabilities to express themselves. Your work will have a significant impact on our users/business and you’ll have a voice in setting the technical direction of our platform.
As a Senior Software Engineer - Front End, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining user-facing features and applications. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers, back end engineers, and product managers, to build high-performance, scalable, and visually stunning web applications. Your expertise in modern front end technologies, especially Vue3, TypeScript, and Nuxt, combined with experience in content management systems and AB testing platforms, will be essential to your success in this role.
HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Partner with various departments (product, marketing, operations) to scale engineering velocity by providing dedicated bandwidth to accomplish our customer experience product goals
- Own features end-to-end, providing input and feedback to Product Managers and Designers at each stage of the ideation process, outlining requirements for technical implementation, and delivering complete and reliable solutions that meet the needs of Songfinch’s customers, artists, and business operations
- Launch new services and product experiences (confidential for now, but can divulge more in process!)
- Own technical architecture decisions and help drive to production with your team
- In partnership with operations and marketing, deliver highly successful marketing campaigns, leveraging new product and platform APIs and features
- Help create a highly emotive experience for our customers
- Support our mission of delivering 10s of millions of dollars direct to pockets of hard working, passionate artists
- Represent our company values at every step of the way in your daily actions, both externally and internally
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE
- 10+ years of industry experience operating in fullstack development roles, demonstrating the ability to own development projects and technical architecture, preferably with relevant overlap in e-commerce or other consumer facing products
- Experience building & delivering customer facing experiences and leading technical product scoping efforts coordinating with our product teams
- Strong experience in automated testing, CI/CD processes, AB product testing, and QA
- You thrive in learning new technologies while solving real problems.
- Experience in cloud based, service oriented architecture design patterns
- Experience with event driven and loosely coupled architectural patterns
- Product and customer experience “taste and style” preferences to help inform product choices and drive new patterns and capabilities
- A desire to learn/ get your hands dirty in all areas of product, marketing, and business development
BONUS POINTS
- Experience with other JavaScript frameworks and libraries.
- Familiarity with backend development, particularly in Node.js.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Previous experience in a leadership or mentorship role.
